I'm somewhat of a storage snob. You'll see on the links section a couple storage sites that I frequent regularly. One of those sites, StorageReview.com is the best resource on the web for consistent, objective information related to hard drives.

The server that this site is running on has 4 160GB Maxtor DM+9's in RAID 5 in addition to a 80GB OS disk. The disks are nice and quiet, and fast enough for my uses. If I had to do it over again, I'd like to try out Samsung's P80 series because they are said to be the coolest and quietest around.. In addition to being good performers.
